چکیده

In safety literature, there are two ways to incorporate the potential correlation between multiple crash frequency variables: (1) simulation-based approach and (2) analytical closed-form approach. The current research effort undertakes a comparison multivariate model copula based analyze zonal level counts for different types. Further, builds on earlier models by incorporating random parameters thus proposing hybrid (combination of simulation system) unobserved heterogeneity. Within proposed model, empirical analysis involves estimation count using four structures which cover wide range dependency structures, including radial symmetry asymmetry, asymptotic tail independence dependence. best authors’ knowledge, this study is first its kind attribute variability (random parameters) effect within framework. traffic zone (TAZ) data both motorized non-motorized crashes from Central Florida year 2016. A comprehensive set exogenous variables roadway, built environment, land-use, traffic, socio-demographic spatial spillover characteristics considered analysis. resulting fit prediction performance offered clearly highlights – Random Parameter Copula approach’s superiority over purely in our context. exercise further augmented undertaking an in-depth events across types correct classification estimated results reinforce improved Copula-based applicability hot spot identification illustrated generating plots identifying high-crash low- zones type region.

Optimal design of supply chain network under uncertainty environment using hybrid analytical and simulation modeling approach

Models that aim to optimize the design of supply chain networks have gained more interest in the supply chain literature. Mixed-integer linear programming and discrete-event simulation are widely used for such an optimization problem. We present a hybrid approach to support decisions for supply chain network design using a combination of analytical and discrete-event simulation models. The prop...

Multivariate Poisson-Lognormal Models for Jointly Modeling Crash Frequency by Severity

This paper introduces a new multivariate approach for jointly modeling crash counts by severity data based on Multivariate Poisson-Lognormal models. Although the crash frequency by severity data are multivariate in nature, they have often been analyzed by modeling each severity level separately without taking into account correlations that exist among different severity levels. The new Multivar...

Review, analysis and simulation of different structures for hybrid electrical energy storages

Output power in a hybrid power system is constant while the input power with variable characteristics that is generated by different sources. Using Hybrid Electrical Energy Storage (HEES) systems, is growing rapidly since there is an obvious need for clean energy. This paper introduces different parts of a HEES system and then proposes HEES systems which employ battery, ultracapacitor and f...

investigating the feasibility of a proposed model for geometric design of deployable arch structures

deployable scissor type structures are composed of the so-called scissor-like elements (sles), which are connected to each other at an intermediate point through a pivotal connection and allow them to be folded into a compact bundle for storage or transport. several sles are connected to each other in order to form units with regular polygonal plan views. the sides and radii of the polygons are...
